I can't find the answer anywhere. I am using ImageButton for Point and Click scene.. and I want the hotspots to sparkle when clicked or hovered over..preferably different animations. Tried to define a animation by defining a image- don't work. It just shows the first frame of the animation and stops. I defined it at the start, the init phase. I keep looking on the forums..can't solve my problem.
image bixy = Animation("hoversScatter.png", .15, "hoverScatter1.png", .15, "hoverScatter2.png",)
#####now down to the Imagebutton code:
screen imbutton:
add "danvers hall.jpg"
imagebutton:
xpos 130
ypos 145
idle "empty.png"
hover "bixy"
action [Jump("panel4")]
hovered Show("displayTextScreen", displayText = "This was where Alice was kept.")
unhovered Hide("displayTextScreen")
ATL for Animated GIF in ImageButton hover- possible?

have you looked at the Imagebutton GUI Framework? http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewto ... 51&t=22565
It gives examples of imagebuttons that do animations on hover.
As for on clicked. This question has been asked quite a few times. And I believe the answer I keep seeing is: buttons, hotspots, etc...there is not way to make them do animations on being clicked. If you want that, you should create a Creator-Defined Displayable.

I am looking at renpy site for the init statement.. it confuses me where things are defined.. the Uncle Mugen demo defines the transitions in screens.rpy. its confusing ..I will keep hacking at it. Thank you for your reply. Someone mentioned in the forums about "PNG sequences".. I am hunting for more references to that.

Re: ATL for Animated GIF in ImageButton hover- possible?
Renpy treats all files like one big file. So you can often define things in which ever file you want. I tend to define images and variables at the beginning of my script.rpy file. Screens...sometimes I'll define those in the screens.rpy file, sometimes I'll make a special file just for that screen. transitions and transforms...sometimes I'll put that at the beginning of my script.rpy file, sometimes I'll make a special file just for them. Really quite a lot of that is your preference.carroll6 wrote:I am looking at renpy site for the init statement.. it confuses me where things are defined.. the Uncle Mugen demo defines the transitions in screens.rpy. its confusing ..I will keep hacking at it. Now I'm not quite sure what your two questions have to do with your question about making a button do something on hover...but...
init documentation is here:
http://www.renpy.org/doc/html/quickstart.html#init
http://www.renpy.org/doc/html/python.ht ... -statement
I have no idea what you mean by PNG sequences...what are you wanting to do?
