I wanted to distribute my new game for different platforms but this error comes up. I updated Ren'py already.

Your build.directory_name variable may not include the space, colon, or semicolon characters. That is what the error says...and what the problem you are having is.

Look in your options.rpy file. At the end of it. there will be a line that says:

Code: Select all

build.directory_name = "Whatever the name of your game is"
If the name has a space, colon, or semicolon in it...it won't work. For example the above won't work. But this will:

Code: Select all

build.directory_name = "Whatever_the_name_of_your_game_is"
A Close Shave:
*Last Thing Done (Aug 17): Finished coding emotions and camera for 4/10 main labels.
*Currently Doing: Coding of emotions and camera for the labels--On 5/10
*First Next thing to do: Code in all CG and special animation stuff
*Next Next thing to do: Set up film animation
*Other Thing to Do: Do SFX and Score (maybe think about eye blinks?)
