Are you using the new GUI? It uses these translations, while the old system does not.

Well.. I updated Renpy and then moved my game files from the old version to the new one, does this count as using the new GUI?
Or do I need to create a new project and move my code to it?

Yes, you'd need to create a new project using the new gui framework. Or you could update the call of the FileTime function in screens.rpy to be something like:

FileTime(slot, format=_("{#file_time}%A, %B %d %Y, %H:%M"), empty=_("empty slot"))

I might sound stupid but I'm going to ask anyway,

The new GUI doesn't give the option to choose a language for your game when you create a new project, right?

Because I created multiple projects and didn't see that option and when I tried to add this line

Code: Select all

config.rtl = True
to the options file, I got an error.

So how one would go about creating a new non-English game?

Thank you

https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/translat ... -languages

Once you change the language of the launcher (Preferences -> Language), that language will be the primary 'None' language when you create new project. Whatever strings that had been translated into your choosen language will be there along with your new project.

'None' language is your default language for the visual novel.

Anyway, I guess we'll have to wait for a new update before we can fully use the translation framework with the new GUI.

Thank you. It really appears that the translation is not fully working right now.
I changed the launcher language & created a new project and I got this:
newgui.PNG
It writes Arabic from left to right and the letters are not connected together.

For now, I'll go back to the old GUI.

Thank you for your help.
