"The large yellow and red building loomed over us sending a shiver down my spine by how intimidating the size was. The front of the school had neatly trimmed trees with bright yellow leaves and hedges lining the surprisingly very white paved walkways."

"All conversation seemed to cease when everyone turned to see what was going on. I turned my head too and noticed that practically everyone who was once sitting down was now standing in a crowd surrounding a group of people."

"With all their diverse appearances and personalities, they all seemed like a cast of characters in some high school movie or video game."
"What if this really was some kind of movie or video game, starring me as the main protagonist, hoping to join into their ranks in popularity which I do after helping them in some way, or falling in love with one of them, experiencing an emotional roller coaster from beginning to end."
"But in all honestly, I was probably just another extra walking around in the background of their no doubt perfect lives. I tuned back in to Morgan who was still talking about them."
m "They’re all in the same club too but it's like, super hard to get into."

"He was cut off by the school bell ringing, signaling not just for everyone to get inside and into class but that summer break was officially over. Everyone including the group of popular kids got up and started heading into the school in droves."
"Thankfully, it turned out I had the same homeroom as Morgan so I just followed him there. I was considering asking Morgan to finish telling me about the club those mysterious popular kids were in, but the hallway was already too loud with the chatting and shouting of teenagers, not to mention hard to move around, I decided to keep it to myself."
"It was probably for the best anyways, I mean, what was the point in having interest in a club I couldn’t possibly get into? It was probably going to be pretty boring anyways."

w "I was taken out of my thoughts when we're finally arrived at the door to homeroom: 218C. I was nearly out of breath once we got there! We had to walk to pretty much the other end of the school, and that together with all our navigating and wedging through people just trying to get here, it was enough exercise to not have to do PE for a year! Well, I’m sure that at least the teachers were nice!"

"Fast forward later, we were now at lunch. Morgan practically dragged me over here as he made a mad dash for the cafeteria and I’m glad he did. This place got packed! The lines were so long that they managed to spread to outside of the cafeteria, and there were so little seats that students actually stood along the walls!"
"We were lucky enough to get a seat, however, so that’s a victory there. I’m sure this is simply the result of people’s schedules getting sorted out and it's only temporary… Right?"
m "Sorry you had to deal with that, I heard that Ms. Faust was terrible, but I didn’t know it was THIS bad!"
w "I think that was probably the worst experience I had with a teacher, ever!"
m "And trust me, honey, it gets worse."

m "Well, since this is an art and preparatory school, it has the standard stuff: National Art Honors Society, Robotics, Theatre, Orchestra, Chorus, Math Club, community service, etc."

m "I’m sure Master Camio would be happy to have a new member in our circle."

"Although video games never really had an influence on my life, I did do a lot of drawing and I was considered a pretty good artist back in my old school, so I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt to try out after school for the art department, even if it did seem pretty weird to hold auditions for a club that was probably pretty unpopular."

"The day wasn’t that bad from that point on. Since it was the first day, there wasn’t a lot of work to do, so most of class time was spent going over classroom rules and procedures."
"I was still relieved when it was finally time for everyone to go home for the day. I ran up the steps fishing my usb filled with my art from my backpack, wanting to be early and prepared for the auditions so I can get it over with faster and go home."
"I stopped in front of room 233B, where the flier said the club room was. I took a second to relax and gain some composure before actually going in. This was so exciting! The butterflies in my tummy were absolutely restless, who knows what might go down at this audition?"

The other 9 people (i had just noticed the rather short fellow with glasses)in the room finally noticed me,their eyes turning the butterflies in my stomach into hundreds of busy bees."
"I was frozen. I wasn’t sure I wanted to do this anymore. What if they don’t like my art? What if they don’t like me?!"

j "Alright, kid, now before we get to looking at the art you should have brought, I want you to tell me a bit about your work ethic. How you work in groups, how dedicated you are to work and projects, and crap like that."
c "We also need to know your artistic background: When you started drawing, what and how you usually draw, what mediums you have used…"
"Jeez, I thought this was an audition not an interrogation! Despite how perfect Jimmy was described to be, at the moment she looked awfully threatening, her sweet smile having been replaced with a stern face."
"Cube didn’t exactly help ease the pressure either, it felt like he was judging even the smallest of my movements with those eyes. Together, it felt like they had some kind of power over me. It seemed as though they knew more about me than I knew about myself, holding satisfied yet unimpressed expressions as if they had heard what I said all before."
"I let out a sigh of relief once the interview was over and they finally moved onto my flash drive full of both traditional and digital art from the past year."
