How do you get rid of or customize the bar of functions at the bottom?
EDIT: Tried commenting out the entire quick menu section in the screens file but nope, just crashed the game.

Try removing the line at the end of the 'say' screen which says 'use quick_menu'.
EDIT: To remove it entirely, from every part of the game, you'll have to dispose of every 'use quick_menu' statement.
Try using ctrl+f to find them quickly.

And if you're wanting to get rid of the quick menu just because it is so tiny by default, know that you can customize it, as any other menu. There's a tutorial here:
