Weird Renpy bug that causes games and the program to freeze

First of all, excuse my English, I couldn't come up with a clearer and more accurate subject as I'm still very much confused and don't know how to address the problem I'm facing here. Gosh I'm desperate ;v;
For a few days now, the Renpy games I downloaded would always freeze when I open them. Well I don't think "freezing" is actually the case here but it's something pretty close to that. No buttons or any amount of mouse clicking would do it any justice, but the games would work instantly after I drag and drop the game window. The Renpy program acts the same way, even after I updated it to the newest version.
That didn't make much sense, eh? ._. So it goes like this:

I extract the game file > Game window pops up > I then click on a button, "start" for instance > No response from the game, but it doesn't show "not responding" in the game window text on top or appear to be loading at all, music plays but the game is completely still, the text display/color doesn't change when my mouse hovers around the buttons > I drag the game window and drop at another position on the screen > Somehow that gets the game to begin > I click on the game again > No response > I move the game window just slightly > The game proceeds.

I suppose it's not completely useless, still, I am not happy to have to adjust the game window unnecessarily for every block of texts that I read so I've been trying to figure out where the issue came from and of course, a solution. No luck so far. At first I thought it was because my laptop was low of space (it wasn't) and I think I freed up about 30 Gb but it was no use, plus my laptop doesn't seem particularly slow or display graphics slowly. My DirectX is up to date so minus another possibility. I then ran a ton more Renpy games to test and surprisingly, some of them worked just fine, but it seemed those that worked were created with much older versions of Renpy because they were all made in 2009 or the years before that. I thought it had something to do with Renpy having a new version, I was still using Renpy 6.99.10 so I updated to the latest version but as stated above it changed nothing.
I googled this with a bunch of different stupid lines but found nothing useful, messed around with my laptop graphics settings and even tried restarting my laptop but if only it were that simple TvT

I would be so grateful if any of you could help me with this! I don't know how much longer I can take because Renpy games are life, ugh plus how am I suppose to start making games if I have to basically move the program window with every click for it to work ;___;

Have you updated the rest of your system? I use to have a similar problem with the game screen. It would turn black with multi-colored lines flashing everywhere.

Within every Ren'Py game folder there's a file called log.txt, open that and you can see your system details. Search online for an update for your 'renderer'. Also update your operating system. (like with windows update if you're on windows.)

(oop accidentally recommended something that wasn't free.) Go to the official site of your vender and they might have an auto updater... good luck, hopefully things get fixed. :3
