[Solved]Variable Text Speed Within a String

#1 Post by Solo Acapello » Sun Jan 15, 2017 2:21 pm

Hello all!

I've looked around the cookbook and other sites in order to find more information on text speed, but I haven't been able to find out if there is a code that lets you change the text display speed mid-string.

For example:
"I want the word {slow}slow{/slow} to appear slower than the other words in this sentence."

Of course, the {slow} tag is just made up by me and doesn't really exist. I've seen ways to alter the entire project, or to use character styles to make a certain character say things at a different speed, but I've had no luck in doing things like this mid-string.

Other side questions would involve playing sound effects at certain points in a string as well, or causing screen effects or changing character sprites on certain words, but I haven't looked around as much on those. Here's an example. As usual, the tags are just made up.
Example:
L "And then Phoenix Wright shouted {screen shake}{sound effect)OBJECTION!"

Thanks!

And for second one look up {nw} and {fast} tags. Or 'extend' character instead of {fast} tag.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't find that... I need to really look harder.

Either way, thanks a million! You guys are the best!
