Some months ago I created a thread about using OpenGL shaders to create all kinds of interesting effects to make RenPy images feel more alive. Now the library also supports skeletal animation. You can turn your images or LiveComposites into interactive and animated "dolls", I guess similar to Live 2D (?) and others. Here is one demo video showing stuff with two different images:

The rig editor is pretty simple, but reasonably powerful. Here is a basic workflow video:

Source code, example project and documentation is available here: https://github.com/bitsawer/renpy-shader All feedback is welcome. The project is still in beta, so some things are still work in progress.
New skeletal image animation system for RenPy

This is the right place for Ren'Py help. Please ask one question per thread, use a descriptive subject like 'NotFound error in option.rpy' , and include all the relevant information - especially any relevant code and traceback messages. Use the code tag to format scripts.

Re: New skeletal image animation system for RenPy
Spine/Spriter/Live2D and etc. can do more than this but Ren'Py is almost hopelessly behind in OpenGL support compared to similar engines so this is plainly awesome
Edit: Cookbook might be a better place for this?

Re: New skeletal image animation system for RenPy
Just posting so I can keep up with this thread.
I've been using GIMP + GAP (free) and Anime Studio 11 (Not free, now called Moho studio) for my animation work. This looks somewhat simpler.
