Turning "A Date with Markiplier" into a full game, need help

Dunno if anyone here has seen this yet, but recently, YouTube personality Markiplier released a special video (more like experience) called "A Date with Markiplier", which is an interactive movie with branching paths, just like a VN. You can check it out for yourself here:



I'm trying to get back into using Renp'y and figured turning the whole thing into an actual playable game would be a good way to practice using the engine again. (I have not touched the engine in almost 2 years)

I ripped all the videos that make up the whole thing off YT in MP4 format, and put them in the 'images' folder and also made a separate folder called 'video' in case that doesn't work.

So I got started and I've already run into problems, I can't seem to get the first video to play when I hit start. I assume it has to do either with the placement of the files or perhaps because the video isn't in the proper format?

Pretty sure Renpy only supports .ogv videos so you will need to find an online converter.

Thanks for the responses, but I'm still wondering if there's a specific place I'm supposed to be putting the video files. Can they go in"images" or a separate folder?

Thanks for the move, my bad. Also I did just figure out that the videos have to be placed in the image folder. I was able to find an OGV convertor online, so I was able to get a test working. I think I got it from here, thanks everyone.
