Cannot locate file, 'is it missing' error message.

Hi, a player is trying to open a game and is getting the following message:

"Could not execute
C:\Users\IBM_ADMIN\AppData\Local\wz3c17\samplegame-pc\lib\windows-i686\samplegame.exe.
Is it missing?"

Has anyone ever encountered an error message like this before?

Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

Chances are that C:\Users\User\ has your real name in it. I'm guessing that you have some sort of non-ASCII character in your name, and your system is set to an encoding that can't represent the characters in your name. So you want to change your system's encoding to one that can represent your name.

My computer restore itself to an earlier point and my Microsoft C++ 2008 got corrupted so the side-by-side no longer work properly.
I just had to download it again.

Or maybe it's the antivirus issue:

I had the same problem.
In my case "Kaspersky Internet Security" was blocking Ren'py
After adding the Ren'py folder and subfolders to the "Whitelist" my problem was solved.

I'll ask about those issues!

I do wonder why Renpy would be trying to open the .exe in \AppData\Local when the game is installed in the downloads folder.
