I'm searching someone to help me searching files.
Hi everyone,
I have to translate a game make on RenPy (and Python I think) but after many research I still don't find the correct files. I'm searching the dialogues files that can be translate but...
The game is called "Coming Out on Top" and I wanted to translate it in french.
So I ask if someone could help me to find those files. Thank you.

Does the game have any contact info for the developer?
Your best approach would be to directly contact whoever made the game.

The game's creator, Obscura, is an active member of this forum. Just send her a PM.
No, sorry! You must be mistaking me for someone else.

Sucks to be you i'm having trouble making a Gal game since it uses Python scripting that's hard
Re: I'm searching someone to help me searching files.
Yeah, I already talked with Obscura, I tell him that I will begin the translation (I've done some menus) and now I'm waiting an answer.

The biggest problem is that : In RenPy :
In Edit Files, nothing is available because files are enregistrate in a different way that it should.
Generation Translation allows me to tranlate some menus but I don't find dialogues and others menus...
Extract Dialogues makes a empty files...

YOu need to have an original project version of the game, not the distribution build, for RenPy translation facilities to work correctly. Your best bet is to contact a creator and ask to send translation files to you (or development version of the game.)
Make sure you read this: https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/translation.html to know how to change other things, not included in translation files by default.

Re: I'm searching someone to help me searching files.
This is not a Ren'Py problem. The problem is you want access to files that the creator doesn't want you to have. Some creators leave their games unarchived so that anyone can access their files....usually to see how they work. But many games, especially commercial games, archive their files so people can't steal or mess with their commercial game. And not just Ren'Py. Many commercial games don't allow you access to its code and assets. And cracking into the game to get those assets is illegal.lycaneon wrote:The biggest problem is that : In RenPy :

So the only thing you can do is ask the creator for permission.
