Hello! I'm quite new to RenPy and to this forum plus this is my first question I've ever posted.
I've been fiddling with the basics using the cookbook and guides I found in this forum.
Then, I read a post (which I don't remember where it was) that you can create a game with battle system using RenPy.
Is it really possible to do so? Or does it requires much more experience with codes(since I've only mastered the basics)?

There is also this engine, but it's been incompatable with the latest Ren'py for a while now. You'll have to learn and work with an older version from around 2014 to make it work and no customer service from this forum. In fact, asking other coding questions around here with outdated versions may even become more difficult because of the differences. Try at your own risk, I myself am not brave enough to try it nor do I have experience with it, so I can't even tell if you have a chance.
The outdated battle engine the person above me linked can still work with some small tweaks, especially if you only use the basic turn battling system. Most problems seem to be related to facing which isn't needed for the turn based combat, delete the exception and clean things up so the indents are ok makes most of engine playable.

I forgot that I've actually read Alex's simple battle system.
I'll just try with Alex's code and improve my skills to make it better!
