How to hide/manipulate Side Images?

Hey guys i'm fairly new here and i'm having trouble with side images.
I'm using renpy/python code to make a visual novel and I just started using side images to show character busts when they're talking
It was working until I used a new tag to show a different expression on one of the characters.
After that line of code( it was something like: e smile "dialogue here") the image wouldn't go away. So other images and side images just appear on top of it.
Is there a way to hide that side image? or change my code or something?

Can you put the code you used here? Make sure to wrap it in [ code ] [ /code ] .tags (sans spaces)

I have no idea what you're doing or how to work side images myself, but I want to be helpful, so let's employ my trademark 'clueless logic':
-Does showing and hiding side images work like showing and hiding normal images? If so, have you made sure to hide one before showing the other?
-Make sure you read the command documentation right. You could be using the wrong code for it, or be skipping a line you should have included.
-Is the problem only with that one instance? Try and replicate it with multiple faces. If it's just that one face causing the problem, the problem could be much more complicated than a simple code error.
