Hello! I'm trying to use the "web updater" feature, but every time I try to make it work I got this error:
Code: Select all
Either this project does not support updating, or the update status file was deleted.
I thought it could be a problem on my current VN so I started a new project and followed those steps:
- Added the current link on navigation screen:
Code: Select all
textbutton _("Check updates") action updater.Update('http://downloads.lewdbit.studio/test-updater/updates.json', force=True)
- Added the build config on options.rpy:
- Made a 1.0 build.
- Edited the
start label with new text
- Bumped version to 2.0
- Made a 2.0 build
And the error still persists. Am I missing something in this process? You guys can check the update files and 1.0 and 2.0 builds here:

Your host probably can't support this feature. Try using a server or host that supports more than DDL.
(is this your website or just somewhere that is hosting your files?)

It's my website and I can use zsync without problems, at least on the command line:
Code: Select all
$ zsync http://downloads.lewdbit.studio/test-updater/test-updater-2.0-mac.zsync
#################### 100.0% 0.0 kBps DONE
Read test-updater-2.0-mac.update. Target 97.1% complete. **************
downloading from http://downloads.lewdbit.studio/test-updater/test-updater-2.0-mac.update.gz:
#################### 100.0% 118.3 kBps DONE
verifying download...checksum matches OK

Macs do not support the updater. Blame Apple, but thanks to signing requirments the mac apps are now read only.
