Unable to Change Default CPS

Hello, I'm still fairly new to this program but I've done my best to learn as much as I can over the last week. However, I've finally hit a problem that I can't find an answer to, and I've just spend the last two hours searching the internet, yet to no avail.
Currently, I'm wanting to change the default CPS to 30 instead of 0.

I have gone into the options.rpy and changed the

default preferences.text_cps = 0

to

Code: Select all

default preferences.text_cps = 30

and deleted the "persistent" file in the game > saves directory, as it said to do on another thread I read. I rebooted the game, yet nothing has changed. I'm just wondering what else I may have to do in order to set the default cps to 30, because I'm out of ideas right now

Try closing your game, going to the Launcher screen and clicking on the Delete Persistent button. Then run your game again.

Hi, thanks for your reply, but that didn't work I'm afraid. Do you have any other ideas or suggestions?
