limiting the amount of story read per day with option to purchase more - is it possible with Ren'Py?

Hi,

I am new to Ren'Py and Interactive Visual Novel games in general

Some of the games I came across only allow to read a limited part of the story per day.
To continue playing you can either purchase a set amount of extra 'energy' that allows to read another limited part or wait until tomorrow, when the daily allowance replenishes.

Is this something that can be done in Ren'Py? If so, does anybody here know how to?

There is a IAP engine, but it only allows the unlock format, not the consumable format (energy, gems, etc).

I'm afraid without integration with a marketplace for consumables you're not going to be able to implement the feature as you stated.
