[Solved by glorious individual, PyTom] Problem with custom cursor (Not present with default curso

#1 Post by JanstinBeebo » Tue Mar 27, 2018 5:13 pm

Hello again!

I am having some issues with my game when it uses my custom cursor image. The mouse experiences a tiny bit of delay (It seems to trail a bit behind your actual movements), but that's not a big deal. I've seen that issue reported before.

There are certain parts of the game, however, where it experiences frame rate drops or temporary freezes. These instances tend to be during scene transitions, but it also happens during normal dialogue where I can't think of any reason for it. If I have the game use the default cursor instead, these problems are not present (Which is the reason I'm not posting this in the thread about game slow downs, since I've isolated that the cause is a custom cursor.)

Any particular reason this would only be happening with a custom cursor present? I really want to keep the cursor in my game, but not if it's going to take away from any of the experience.

Yes, it's because the custom cursor goes through GL buffering and compositing, while the main one doesn't. There's no way to fix this.
