every time I create a new interface, the game menu is the first thing I remove alongside with the everything related to GUI, recently I've been paying attention to the game menu code and I see the reason why it's there, but I fail to see the benefits to keep it. does it provide any resizing when the mobile variant screens are not provided?
if we're going to design separate interfaces for smaller screens, does it even matter to wrap our screens in the game menu and its viewport when the individual screens have their own viewport??
[solved] benefits to keeping the game menu?

Re: benefits to keeping the game menu?
The game menu serves the purpose of being an easily customised boilerplate for those inexperienced enough to create a full menu system on their own.
Or, at least, that is how I see it.
I personally edited the menu system in my own game so much that you'd probably not even realize it was made with Ren'Py if it were not for the information in the about screen (which is only same in name).
But, what suits me, may not suit others.
You're free to edit the menu how you like.

Re: benefits to keeping the game menu?
that's what I assumed as well, just wasn't sure if I could squeeze any functionality out of it or not, thank you ^_^
