Can't access main menu or game menu

I don't know what I did, but for some reason if I start a new game I can't access the game menu. The only way to fix it is to press F1, but pressing "return" after that brings me to the main menu, instead of back into the game.

This is only happening with starting a new game. If I load a game everything works as intended.

I recently added an achievement screen to my game, and I updated to the latest renpy version. Could that have something to do with it?

What is the error message?

Have you programmed a demo and this problem occurs? Try to create a new project from scratch and tell me if it works or try this demo.

I don't get any error message at all, it just doesn't work.

I tried the starfield demo, and the menu shows up fine when starting a new game.

What do you mean about programming a demo? If you mean distributing the project, the problem is still there.
I could provide code snippets, but I'm not sure where the problem would be so I don't know what to show.

Still haven't found a way to fix this, so here's a demo of the project. I'm not sure what file could cause the problem, but hopefully it helps.
