How to create a new script

Hello,
short question: I tried to create a new script. I clicked navigate script --> create new script and typed a name clicked enter, but nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong?

A simple way is to
open the game folder
add a new txt-document
change the name of the txt file to i.e. "script2.rpy"
important: you must change .txt to .rpy
next time you open the editor the new script file will be there.

I always create the new rpy file from within the editor.
But I also just tested adding a new file from the launcher and it worked for me.
My steps were:
1) Click on Navigate Script
2) Click on Files
3) Click on Add Script File
4) Notice the warning: "Due to package format limitations, non-ASCII file and directory names are not allowed."
5) Typed in test.rpy
6) Hit continue
And it showed up.

Are you using the most recent version of Renpy?
Are you using a name without non-ASCII letters?
Are you including the .rpy on your file name?
A Close Shave:
*Last Thing Done (Aug 17): Finished coding emotions and camera for 4/10 main labels.
*Currently Doing: Coding of emotions and camera for the labels--On 5/10
*First Next thing to do: Code in all CG and special animation stuff
*Next Next thing to do: Set up film animation
*Other Thing to Do: Do SFX and Score (maybe think about eye blinks?)

Yes I checked everything, but it doesn't work. Well I'm going with the version per k grok wrote.
