Hi all, my name is ashley. i am from south africa and i am new to this forum.
I am blind, thus i use a screen reader to navigate my computer, and the same with my android device.
This leads to my question:
When i use ren'py on my computer to make some games with, i can just press "V" for the first time when running the launcher to enable the voice output. This allows me to here what's going on on my screen, and i can navigate ren'py with the arrow keys and the enter key.
What i want to know is when compiling games for android, is there a way to also have the same mode like on windows and mac and linax? when playing ren'py games, you can also press v to enable the voice output, you don't only have to do it with ren'py only. you can even do it with the games you compile or simply just run from source. but is there no voice output or simular what i can make use of to play my games on android also?
thanks for reading, and best regards
Is there a way for me to have voice output with ren'py on android?

Unfortunately Text To Speech is not natively supported in Ren'Py for platforms such as Android, iOS and ChromeOS.
Documentation: https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/self_voicing.html
The only option I can think of is to try installing a third party app on your Android that does the voicing. There are quite a few listed if you try a google search or check the Play store.
Good luck finding one that makes Ren'Py accessible for you on Android.

This is something I wanted to add to one of my projects.
I have not made a start on it yet, but will be looking into it eventually.
If I ever do find a solution, I will remember this thread and come back with some help.
