German translated default files

#1 Post by kinkiepinkie »

Hello, guys.
I'm about to add German translation to my game, but can not find default translated common.rpy and screens.rpy files in German.
In the "Tutorial game" I found Russian and French. Where can I get German files from?

Have you done the Generate Translations bit from the Launcher yet?

It should create all the files in /tl/language/ inside /game/
Just go through them and add German translation strings where wanted

Yes, I generated them. But there are too many default words. I took those files from tutorial game for French and Russian. Works great. Now I would like to find German ones.

I think Ren'Py only has English, French, Russian and maybe PigLatin built in.

Other people might know more (or perhaps try googling for "renpy common.rpy in German" or somesuch)

...or try:

{your path to renpy install}/renpy-{version}-sdk/launcher/game/tl/{language}
for possible files

I can see these lines in Ren'py changelog

Translations
Ren'Py now has the ability to automatically detect the locale of the user's system, and use it to set the language. Please see config.enable_language_autodetect and the Translation documentation for how this works.
The French, German, Korean, Russian, and Simplifed Chinese translations have been updated.

Will it help me somehow in my problem?

Ren'Py has lots of built in language, atleast for the launcher.
* Arabic
* Finnish
* French
* German
* Greek
* Indonesian
* Italian
* Japanese
* Korean
* Malay
* Piglatin
* Portugese
* Russian
* Simplified Chinese
* Spanish
* Traditional Chinese
* Vietnamese

The tutorial on the other hand is only translated in the four languages you mentioned.

No. Look inside launcher/game/tl/german for a German translated common.rpy and screens.rpy file.
