I can't click on "Configure" after installing the SDK [SOLVED]

#1 Post by Ceilyan »

Hello :)

My problem is simple: I can't click on the Configure button after installing the SDK and creating the Keys in the Renpy launcher. Until yesterday, I had absolutely no problem with it, but since then (I re installed renpy), I just can't get past it. Funny thing is, Renpy is telling me that I'm ready to start packaging game, but the "Configure" button is sill grey out. I built several APK versions of my game before, so I don't know why it suddenly refuses to do it now :?

I have no message error, nothing, so I can't even try to find out why it does not work properly. It says All SDK package licences accepted, then another thing happens but so quickly I can't read (the only thing I saw is fetching repository), and then, Renpy tells me every thing is okay.

I tried to manually extract the SDK, tried to install the latest version via SDK manager, to no avail. I'm quite desesperate right now :( Is there a solution to this problem?

Thank you very much!

I believe you will have to delete the Rapt folder and redownload it.

Deleting the rapt folder is never a good idea, and certainly shouldn't be done with asking me first. I don't believe it has ever fixed a problem.

The fix is at:

https://github.com/renpy/rapt/commit/c3 ... 2bd9488835

This should be edited into line 145 of rapt/buildlib/rapt/install_sdk.py . Then restart the launcher, and re-run "Install Sdk". It looks like a change in how Google handles accepting Android licenses is causing Ren'Py to not install Android correctly, hence the gray-outs.

I am working on a release of Ren'Py that fixes this.

It isn't specifically the Rapt folder itself that is the issue, but some files leftover in the bin folder when updating renpy.
By leaving those files it always causes issues (surely you've seen the dozens of complaints about building Android distributions breaking after updating)
Deleting the files fixes the issue, but it is not always easy to explain which files, so it's easier to suggest just starting from scratch.

The only two issues I see with this are
1: you lose your Android key store file if you didn't back it up.
2: extra bandwidth used when multiple people redownload Rapt.
