I'm just going to put a little bit of foundational information up here in hopes that it'll help.
You need to learn the difference between showing a screen and calling a screen.
When you show a screen the screen will pop up and the game will continue on. So if you want to have a HUD that is always visible, or a life bar or whatever, that you want to show. Because it will just sit there and the game will keep going.
When you call a screen the screen will pop up and the game will stop and wait until it gets a return from the user...usually through pressing a button. You call a screen for things like, the player is about to eat something poisonous and a screen is called asking, "Do you really want to eat that apple? Yes or No?"
In this code of yours:
Code: Select all
label userroom:
scene userbedroommapbase
if eventone == 0:
u "Maybe i should take a look around the house!"
$ eventone = 1
call screen fullshud
call screen phonebuttonfulls
call screen infobuttonfulls
call screen mapbuttonfulls
call screen timeforwardfulls
call screen money_display
call screen exituserroom
$renpy.pause(hard=True)
The problem you are running into is is looks like you have a whole bunch of HUD screens that you wall all of them shown at once, but what you've done is called each one. The game will call fullshud and wait for a return...that will never come because the screen as no button. And if it did? What would happen next? It would call the screen phonebuttonfulls and pause the game waiting for a return...all the way down the line.
I would recommend creating one screen that has all your non-interactive HUD stuff and show that, then create ONE screen that holds the buttons for all your locations. And then you call that one screen forcing the game to pause until the player chooses a location to go to.
