Can't get Ren'Py 7.2.1 to run on OSX 10.13.6

I am having problems getting the latest version of Ren'Py to run. I have run, and can still run 7.1.0 without any problem.

I have tried downloading multiple times. I have downloaded the DMG and the ZIP file. When I copy the SDK folder from the DMG and try to launch it I get a message that the file is corrupted and a prompt to delete it. When I install from the ZIP I right click and tell it to open but all it does is start to open and then just stop. From then on, I can try over an over to launch it and nothing happens. The Icon bounces in the dock once, then stops. No message, no crash message, nothing.

If anyone has any clue what might be going wrong, please let me know.

Thanks!

I've tried the download on my mac, and it worked. We did have someone on the discord that had a similar problem, and the command that fixed it was to run:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /path/to/renpy-7.2.1-sdk from the command line.

I don't have any idea what's causing this - I don't think anything has changed since the last release.

Thank you for the info. That worked and 7.2.1 is running now.

I'd love to know what's causing it, but it seems like it doesn't happen that much, so probably pretty hard to track down. I'll make sure to save this info in case anything like this happens again.

Thanks again!
