Moving and customizing in-game menus

Two questions:
1) I would like, if possibe, to place the in-game menus in diferent positions according to the situation to make them don't disturb the main image
2) I would also like to learn if it's possible to use diferent images for the menu's options, I know I can modify the menu's option image in gui/buttom/choice_idle-hover_background, but I would like to have more than one choice_idle/hover_background to use according to the situation
