Hallo all!
Is it in any way possible to call for a Dissolve when calling for a screen to show using a text button, image button or similar through another screen. So far I've had to reroute it through a jump to a label that then calls the screen, and while that works fine I'm just curious if it's possible to do directly here:
Code: Select all
textbutton "Select" action [Hide("scr_hsetup"),Show("scr_hskills")]
(Another thing: doesn't seem possible to just type out hide("self") when trying to hide screens. Is "self" not a viable command in Ren'Py?)

If i'm not mistaken, self is defined in python, not in ren'py. You need to use the direct name, even if it is inside itself
Also you should find what you are looking for here:
https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/screen_a ... html?#Hide
You can add a second argument that is a transition, like dissolve

So easy, so overlooked. Thank you very much!
