Locations in their own file

#1 Post by Bum_McFluff »

If I want to write a story which will have multiple locations, is it better for me to create a file for each location, especially if there will be lots of choices and actions dependent on those choices, or is it best to keep it all in one (large) file? Or is it simply personal preference?
What, spy on our spy as he searches for their spy? Why not, sounds rather like fun.

Personal preference.

Some people use a file per character, some a file per chapter, some use a file per quest...

Having some sort of grouping is nice though... An 'all these type labels go in this file' kind of thing

Note that PyTom has stated that having multiple files slightly improves performance.
... slightly, probably nothing noticeable to the player.
