Distributing not creating any visible zip files.
So I followed the steps, and tried to complete my test game...
But after it was done, and thanked me for using it, I went to my game folder an there was no zip file... nothing new there at all.
I'm on Windows Vista 64 Bit... I add this because it's given me problems before with other things. -_-
Any help?

It's not outputted to your game folder, but the root Ren'Py folder.
Or is that what you meant?

Sorry, that is what I meant, if I'm correct on the root folder.Aleema wrote:It's not outputted to your game folder, but the root Ren'Py folder.

Documents > VNMaker > Renpy 6.9.3... correct?
It's no where to be found by the title I'd given it either, based on my computer scan as well.

6.9.2... I meant. I can't edit or I would instead of double posting. ._.;;Guest wrote:Sorry, that is what I meant, if I'm correct on the root folder.Aleema wrote:It's not outputted to your game folder, but the root Ren'Py folder.

Maybe you should register.
When you start your distributions, do they actually go through the process of building?
Do you see a progress bar and it completes?

And yes they do, they make a zip for all three platforms, and finish...
I have to type in the title, and what files not to archive, and then it zips, and I finish.
But nothing's there. ._.

Re: Distributing not creating any visible zip files.
Well! That certainly is bizarre.
Also, is this the first game you've ever exported? Have you ever succeeded before?
Have you tried refreshing the folder view (F5 key)? Is the latest Java pack correctly installed?
Did you recently update Ren'Py? If so, check the previous installation's directory for the files.
Also, just in case, make sure your actual project is the "selected project" and that you've run "tools > lint" to check for all problems.
And I suggest redownloading Ren'Py to top it all off. >_>
Could be a silly computer problem, like those intrusive firewalls, or the worst case is that it's a glitch in Ren'Py (doubt it, though).

Maybe it's putting them in a weird place. (You could tell if your hard drive space decreased, I guess). If so, you could try searching for them...

Your best bet is to go to "Options", the "Project Directory". It will show you which directory you have chosen, and the files will be placed there.

This is my first game, just a test run so I'd have it all worked out before I spent so many hours making something that wouldn't work out.Aleema wrote:Well! That certainly is bizarre.

Yes I have tried, and yes Java's installed.
Recently downloaded Ren'Py for the first time. XD
Checked that, no problems reported.
But I just downloaded it. Q~Q
And I took my firewall down just incase, no avail....
I blame the 64-bit splitness of Vista. >.<
I feel really dumb right now...PyTom wrote:Your best bet is to go to "Options", the "Project Directory". It will show you which directory you have chosen, and the files will be placed there.
But I don't see options anywhere. o_____o;
All I get options wise, are these:

I think it's your OS. I'm sorry. =\
You can try upgrading to the newest Ren'Py (6.9.3) with that fancy new starter. It has options on it.

Ooooh o.o
I thought that one was buggy still, or was that thread outdated? XD
Guess I'll try for myself, and report back with the results~

Re: Distributing not creating any visible zip files.
If you give someone your game directory (you can obfuscate the images and delete .rpy but leave .rpyc to run it all) I'm sure one will gladly make releases for you.
Don't worry, we can get through it together. I didn't forget about you! I just got overwhelmed.
