Do side images add more presentation value to games?
I've been working under the assumption that I'd be using just the normal Renpy text box, but then I read and saw that side images are supported natively.
So my question is do character portraits/side images necessarily improve the visual quality/clarity of who is talking? My game isn't exactly overly complicated. The player character is faceless, and there are no more than 2 characters on screen at a time (except maybe towards the end for a single, brief scene, haven't decided yet). But I've always sort of liked the aesthetic of it, I'm more overall concerned of trying to do too much for the visual presentation and overloading.

all it does is to show your players who is talking when you have more then one character on the screen

everybody has their own opinion but the most part is how you feel about your game that will have that feature or not

Yeah, I was hoping to get some more opinions. Basically if a lot of people enjoy it/don't mind it, then I'd consider more about implementing it.
