Malwarebytes flagged file in Ren'py, false positive?

#1 Post by Funk09 »

As I was running malwarebytes virus scanner it flagged the file renpy-7.3.5-sdk/lib/windows-i686/zsyncmake.exe. I'm assuming this is a false positive. I wanted to make sure that zsyncmake isn't actually a threat like the scanner said. Can anybody provide any more info on this? Thanks!

Ren'Py has been used a lot for a very long time now, so I think It's safe to say that anything that resides in the renpy sdk that you got from the official renpy website is all free from malware. But if you're skeptical, you can always do a quick search about the file found as malware https://linux.die.net/man/1/zsyncmake. And you can also get second opinions from other AVs as well https://www.virustotal.com/gui/.
