Well, my question is how can I make the dialogue happen automatically, and that the player cannot absolutely advance by clicking?
It turns out that I have these dialogues.
Code: Select all
l "{cps = 15} You cannot continue until this text finishes writing. {p = 1} {nw} {/ cps}"
l "{cps = 15} You can't skip this text, sorry. {p = 1} {nw} {/ cps}"

You could add a hard pause before the lines of text, timed to how long they take to show. Maybe this.
Code: Select all
$renpy.pause(10, hard=True)
l "{cps = 15} You cannot continue until this text finishes writing. {p = 1} {nw} {/ cps}"
$renpy.pause(10, hard=True)
l "{cps = 15} You can't skip this text, sorry. {p = 1} {nw} {/ cps}"
In general, these kinds of situations are very frustrating to the player, so use them sparingly or at least make sure there's a decent reason for taking control away from the player and restricting them.
Warning: May contain trace amounts of gratuitous plot.
