Unable to Build Distributions

#1 Post by belphe » Sun Dec 27, 2020 3:30 am

Hi all,

I went to make a new distribution for my beta testers this morning and am met with the following error:

"Launching the project failed
Please ensure that your project starts normally before running this command"

I checked my project, and it launches fine. I figured it must be an error renpy is encountering further into the script, and ran through the latest story route I've been building. While I did find one character definition typo and fixed it, this did not solve my problem.

Since then I've tried:

- Running lint (same error)
- Checking the traceback/log (it reports nothing)
- Trying to build a distribution of The Question (same error)
- Uninstalling/Reinstalling the older version of Ren'py I was using (same error)
- Installing the latest SDK and updating it (same error)

At this point, I'm not sure what more to do. Since the error seems to be consistent regardless of version/project, I'm wondering if this might be a problem within Windows itself. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your time!
