Does Renpy have built-in state checks?

State: Dialog - Player is currently in dialog mode, "npc: hey what's up player!"

State: WaitUserInput(Choice Menu) - Player is currently deciding which menu choice to pick while in dialog with an NPC. player: "should I escape or talk my way out?"

State: WaitUserInput(Call Screen Block) - Player is looking around in a room. Game is paused by calling a screen.

I can program these by myself, but I was thinking maybe they're built in somewhere and can be checked?
