[FYI] Deleting my cache folder improved loading times from 6-13 seconds to 700ms.

For about 15 minutes, I've been searching for information as to why deleting my cache folder improved loading time from six-twelve seconds to around 700ms. Unfortunately, I could not find this information on the forum or using the search on the top right corner. I'm writing here so this information gets indexed by google, in case someone else runs into this problem. I repeat, my loading time went from 6-14 seconds to 700ms. This is HUGE. It's important this gets documented here and on the forum.

I've been working on my game for about two months. In that entire time, I never deleted the cache folder, so its size grew from around 500kb to 38mb. I have the cache folder that was causing the slow loading times backed up, and I can reproduce the problem now by merely copying it back to the cache folder. Copying this cache into a new project produces the same slow loading times.

I hope this helps someone. Gonna share this information on the forum as well. Can anyone speculate as to why this happened? Isn't the cache supposed to improve loading times? Note: I've gone through quite a few different ren'py versions, including using experimental builds, perhaps that is a factor?

1. Back up your cache folder: game\cache.
2. Then delete the contents of the game\cache folder.

Hopefully that improves your loading time. It did for me!
