for some reason my background images don't appear?? it's not a black space as if i didn't put a background?? i'm really upset about this i hope someone can help?

If you're trying to call the file without needing to declare it like that, the file name itself needs to be bg night.png instead of just night.png like you have it currently.

Otherwise defining the image like so: will work as well when you show it later.
Since you have your images in that separate folder it's better to define your images.

Looking at it again, it seems like you also haven't defined your speaking characters and such. I'd highly recommend reading through the quickstart guide over at the renpy docs as it has a lot of the info there can be of big help to you!
