Hello! I have just patched my game for the first time on itch.io by patching through Butler. It seems I've made a mistake because I now have duplicates of my game with the exact same name. It is unclear which version is the correct version for a player if they have the old version installed. (I've attached files of what it looks like when I try to launch the game via itch.io)
I have just updated the demo of my game with significant changes and I want to make sure that everyone is playing this version.
define build.name = "GardenofSeifDemo" If I change this to "GardenofSeifDemoNew" will and patch update this, will it create a new file or overwrite the last one?
Thank you, I am learning and patching is quite confusing

Okay I figured it out!
I patch updated and renamed the new version executable file. That way when people launch the game via the itch.io app, they can see the latest version of the game is labeled NEW.
define build.name = "GardenofSeifDemoNEW"
Doing this did not create an additional file of the game to appear, it simply replaced the 2022 upload.
Unfortunately, the 2020 demo is a very different file and is still showing (if it's been previously downloaded by the player). I cannot erase that file if it's already been downloaded, this was all just to make sure that there was a clear difference between the old version and the new one.
