Moving My Game To A Different Engine

#1 Post by AllegraTown » Wed Apr 27, 2022 2:54 pm

Hey, I hope this is the right section to ask this. I made a VN in Renpy but I'm wondering how difficult it would be to import it into a different game engine like Unity. Would that be easy to do or not worth the trouble?

Depends on how complex your game is and engine you want to use. If it is simple classic VN, then porting to any other VN engine would be easy. Porting to general-purpose engine like Unity or UE can be easy if somebody made a framework for VNs or pretty time-consuming, since you will need to reimplement dialogue boxes, dialogue system and everything VN has.

If your VN uses some complex coding, it might be hard or even impossible to port on other VN engines (since they might be too limited).
