I am currently designing a visual novel in which the player is in charge of choosing whether or not to use the resources of the shelter they inhabit when faced with a choice. Say, the player chooses to spend 2 units of water (-2) but gains 1 health (+1), and I was wondering if there was a way to program in Ren'Py to show the increasing / decreasing values to the player.
In line with VA-11 Hall-A's design, for reference, I aim to make a game with the dialogue box & sprites on one half, and the resource tracker (bars?) on the other half.
Particularly, the choices made by the player would add / substract from the available resources. Perhaps, this would work just as 'points' for character routes?
I would welcome any and all guidance and assistance. Thank you in advance!
