eclipse>> Well, I finally sorted through my alice drawings. One of the hair styles seems to be on a different computer- so maybe I'll upload it later, if you want me too.
Anyway, I finally created some nice eyes, and fixed that one set of hair. Here is probably one of the better images my drawings can create. Also attached is the original photoshop file. It has four sets of hair, four sets of eyes, three sets of eyebrows, three mouths, one nose, one school uniform, one pair of socks, and a few other small things. Also, several of the parts have the ink separated from the color. Feel free to create an ALICE pack out of it, to modify it, remove parts, laugh at me, or whatever.

So there's Alice, Betty, and My Alice.

No ones made anything else? No one's even used any Alice doll in any VN yet? I'm surprised.

I'm really loving the Betty doll, dunno if Ren's still hanging around, but it's safe to assume it's at least a Creative Commons Attribution license by default if its unknown? Sure itching to dress her up and give her an awesome warddrobe, then put her to use somewhere...

Heck, maybe I'll just make my own. I realized just how much forward planning is needed when I made the Melinda sprite by flipping and scaling the damn image 100 times. Now that I have to start from scratch anyway, I'll have to create a comprehensive posture set for the many characters in my game (or game series). After I release my game (by the end of this year hint hint), I might as well release the doll set.

I have unzipped Alice and Betty into separate folders and installed the required components.

Main.exe, however, does not show up. It was not included in the zip files.
script is 85% done.
Title is now "Running through water"
and will hopefully stay that way.
Need a poem/lyric?
I'll write one for ya!

Weird, I don't remember where i got the program but i was sure it had both of them and the .exe file...If you want i can search through my CDs, it is there somewhere.I also think i didn't send in all the hairstyles and eyes i had actually O_O
If my pack doesn't have a school uniform, then I definitely didn't.

And on a side note, I didn't realize I had to give some kind of instructions XD You can do anything with her, just consider her under the most permissive license you can think of:3

Edit:Here it is.

I just downloaded this software as stopgap for charcter creation until I get an atrist for my project but I would like to see more variety in the boddy parts (i.e. Faces, bodytypes, gender, hairstyles, etc.). This seems like it could have a great potential for creating freeware character design for those that are not artistically inclined, like myself. It's a great idea. Can I expect more loadpacks with more design options in the future? I like the fact that it allows no "whitespace" for layering purposes too.

Well Alice has finally been used... all that is left is Betty to be used in a game (she is so hot btw)... and then that's that.

I have been revisiting, abandoning, then revisiting and abandoning the idea again and again.

The issue is that there needs to be a unified comprehensive set -- an entire cast of characters -- in the same artistic style for that critical mass of useability to occur. Just one or two characters will be exhausted pretty quickly and would be limited to small games.

I lost the motivation to create that entire cast for something which may not be used... I'm not sure if other people have the motivation either to add new sets instead of modifying some elements to suit their purposes.

But thanks for posting your interest in this... I am reminded of what Ignosco called my 'pallet-swapping technique', and have recently expanded the concept in planning for my next game. Perhaps, just maybe, the system I use can be donated afterwards.

This program sounds really cool, and so much easier than "cutting out" characters from video screenshots! :P

But I'm having some setup issues, I've installed GTK+ (properly, I hope-- I checked, and the environment variables were set) but for some reason ALICE isn't finding the DLLs it needs. Any suggestions, hopefully short of copying it all to the GTK folder?

EDIT: Never mind. After (accidentally) rebooting, it works... heh.

Thanks!Glad you like her^_^ No one seems to have noticed her super tight blue swimming costume ;_;
I don't know, at the moment I'm busy with something else, but it would be nice for anyone who may do this to know which kind of characters would be needed/desired for a set of people before starting on doing such a thing...

Saying that different body types are needed is simple for example, being more specific, saying that flat chested skinny girls, taller and with more breasts(a là Betty), more mature(a là teacher in most hentai games), bishounens, young kids like Jean of Fushigi no umi no Nadia and guys like Balboa from Plastic little...that's another pair of shoes :3It would be useful to determine which kind of people are used more often so that no one wastes time on a base and its set of clothes.

Even though I'd love to make a Tiger Mask cosplay set for a man base @w@Or a Maetel one for a girl, but no one would be able to use them XD Better drawing fan arts then...

I'd love to use her (that sounds so wrong) in my current project. She has a very limited wardrobe, but I think I've found a way to deal with that. And although dropping the clothes altogether is tempting, that's not it. ;P

Ain't that the truth. Practically the stuff of H-games. n_n

In other news: I've noticed that when using the recolor option, there are sometimes stray pixels that look completely "off," e.g. a green pixel in a field of purple. Is this just something to do with the image processing?

I can't guarantee anything, but if you need I could draw you stuff you request :3
And yep, I was even tempted to make her a H set of nipples once, huhu...
Nyaa!So you wanna use her somewhere?^_^Definitely, if you need some particular outfit try to ask, I may or may be not able to deliver, but it's worth a try.
Regarding the pixels, i noticed that too when i recolored the white tshirt ...it's my fault, when I coloured it on a white bg i probably didn't notice some gaps where the colour was off, when you recolour it gets more obvious;_;Sorry for the inconvenience!

XD Well, nipples are standard equipment... in Japan anyway.

Outfits will not be an issue, I think. I'm not comfortable revealing any details about the project just yet, because there's still a lot of planning to do, but Betty (in some incarnation :P) looks perfect for it. I'll try to remember to create a new thread once I'm satisfied with my progress.

No inconvenience, just some extra fiddling with the numbers. n_n And I don't think it's your fault; the same thing happens with the Alice doll (I haven't tried with "My Alice" yet). It's probably an artifact of processing, happens all the time.

Sorry to trouble you, but I've changed my mind. I tried removing her mouth to "close" it but it looks a little weird. If you have time, would it be a bother to ask for a closed mouth, and maybe some other expressions (e.g. 'o' mouth, wink, raised eyebrow)?
