[UPDATED AGAIN! 8/30/10!!] Color style timeline!
I made a post before about color style, and we've decided to can both and do something a bit more difficult. Unfortunately, the difficulty of it is pretty far beyond any of us have ever tried, and it will take us a while to get to the magical "there" in which we're all satisfied and have something good.
So, here is a little timeline for fun, from our first idea, to a very early concept of our last idea, all concerning color style.
We started here. We liked the idea, but it needed perfecting. Working on it...
We moved here! Not...so much, as you can tell. We tried again, with cleaner line art...
And got to that. Okay, a good start, but again, we felt there was something lacking. Once more, we tried...
And managed this. But this was boring and shiny and just...the opposite of classic horror. So, throwing away all our fears, we began to develop this...
We've finally reached a direction we like, but we're still short of having it perfect. Hope you enjoyed!

That last polished one would be great for CGs, but I'm wondering if it's maybe a bit to fancy for sprites etc.
All your stuff is looking pretty good so far. I'm looking forward to this game!

The problem with this style is that it's rather all or nothing. You can't go too far from the style, or there'll be a mismatch between them that we want to avoid.Meems wrote:That last polished one would be great for CGs, but I'm wondering if it's maybe a bit to fancy for sprites etc.

Our way to avoid this is to have all 4 of our artists work on all art and agree on all art.

The sprites are top notch, I like the organic coloring your team has done. The line art also is wonderful. Obviously the direction you chose to follow is much nicer than the the first ones. This increase in quality must also stretch production time ?
