Sour Prince

It's a short (and light-hearted, I think) kinetic novel about a school idol's (semi-)mysterious secret. (Incidentally, it's my first visual novel.)

The game contains 486 screens of dialogue.
These screens contain a total of 3722 words,
for an average of 7.7 words per screen.
The game contains 0 menus.

Mac:

Linux:

(Now fixed so that the text is more readable! And so that Mac users won't have to see crashiness.)

Awwww, cute!! Super congrats on releasing your game. :3
I really like how polished it looks! I'm really diggin' the color scheme and the logo, haha.
I kinda wished it was longer, because I liked it. Mason opened up rather quickly -- didn't feel there was enough detective snooping and drama/tension! But you established the characters, gave us the premise, told us that they're on speaking terms and that the MC already had feelings for him, and then gave us not one but two good endings. So no harm, no foul. ;)

- The bright yellow dialogue box, while super cute, made the white text hard to read, especially since all of the sprites had white on their lower halves. I would suggest a much darker outline on the white than just the gray. But I'm all for bright colors, just with dark text (or dark outline).
- On the reverse side, I LOVED LOVED the instant messenger window. It was perfect, the text was so pleasant to read, it was cute, etc. I would've loved more IM conversations, if not just to show that Mason could be a different person when not face-to-face or in front of others.
- lmao
"he looked at me like I just said "hurr hurr""
xD
- Nice music! The jazz worked great at setting up the tone.

Again, big congratulations on your first VN! Yaaay! Image

;_; What are these...tears of joy?! You really think it looks polished? That's nice to hear!

Ah, I did think he opened up a little fast too. ^_^;;
I just wasn't sure what she could do exactly besides stalking escorting him that wouldn't make it immediately obvious that he was just going to work everyday.
All the sprites have white on their lower halves?...wow, I didn't even notice that. XD I thought the white was sorta hard to read but I wasn't sure how to fix it. Change it to black and it's readable, but kinda harsh looking. It was brown before but then I thought it looked strange for some reason. (Now I don't and my sister agrees that it looks fine. I suppose I'll reupload it with brown text then.)

And MediaFire doesn't...? Strange, it's the opposite for me. I'll make an account at MediaFire, nonetheless, and upload it there. Or could I make it an attachment to this post? ...I couldn't, the files are pretty big for a short game! >-<; MediaFire it is.
and also is it okay to post about this game on my blog with screenshots?
Sure!

(The file manager at MediaFire is a lot less troublesome. Megaupload's likes to pretend I don't have any files uploaded a lot.)

I can? o_o; I mean, I could, I guess...But this game is really short and could've been better...I mean, should I? It's not much of a game...orz. And having two mirrors would be weird. (I'm sorry! It just feels like I'm imposing on everyone enough to just post it here, as stupid as that sounds.) Thank you for the suggestion though!

I've just reached the IM'ing part and I absolutely adore you for making her name GavinnersFan XD *continues playing*

Alright, for starters; I really liked the simple, cute art style in the game. And I'm sad the story is so short. I had wanted to see more! I hope you decide to expand this or at least make more visuals novels <3
By the way; I love the logo too :3

A "kinetic novel" is a VN that doesn't have choices. She mentioned this in the description. :)

(YAY TESTS ARE OVER!!) I've finally gotten a chance to try this!
I love the story, the slightly odd stalker-ish nature of the protagonist, the cute art(I love the colors!), the music that wasn't disruptive, the overall plot, the COOKIES, the addition of the epilogue. I could probably go on, but I don't want to overload this with commas.
Anyway... good job! I rarely play Kinetic Novels because I normally dislike following a story in which I could not make any decisions, but I really loved this one :D I love Mason<3

The novel crashed twice while playing it. I got one thing of the components/my user configurations that gets shown when an app on my mac crashes. So yea I copied that and I can send it to you as a PM if you need to.

For a very short story it was great, I was hesitant at first to download it (I'm not such a fan of KNs). But I'm glad I did. I thought the ending and the music were excellent. Looking forward to your next one~!
