Themes for VN games
I've noticed that many VNs I've seen have some sort of dating/love theme in them. Is this something that's common in all VNs (Japanese ones, especially)? I'm just wondering if there are any VNs out there that don't have any sort of love theme in them, or if there are any other themes that they tend to use commonly instead of love/dating.

A large majority of commercial Japanese visual novels have explicit sex scenes, which correlates strongly with romance. However, all of the following also exist:
- Short non-commercial visual novels on just about any subject.
- Commercial visual novels without explicit sex scenes, and often without romance. (See ひぐらしのなく頃に (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni) for example.)
- Commercial visual novels with explicit sex scenes, but no romance.
- Commercial visual novels that include explicit sex scenes and romance, but only as a relatively minor subplot, with the main focus elsewhere. Depending on where you draw the line, this may actually be the majority.

LOL so it's not really p0rn. Just a random point in the game where there's nudity or some sort of sexual content? Re: Themes for VN games
I honestly wouldn't call it porn, because for the best games, it's usually just very heavy suggestion (someone bent over, another person behind them, no actual view of body parts, or someone's hand in someone's pants or grabbing their butt or something) with some dubious sounding voicing that heavily implies naughtiness but isn't outright smut.
Not that there AREN'T porn games, but the quality of those tends to drop like an anvil. The absolute best, primo voiced and drawn games I've seen all have quite the heavy suggestion in them, but aren't outright explicit, nor is romance the plot.
