Just an active battle system (using Jake's engine, lol) since I can't draw enough animations to do the grid style. I'm hoping as I progress further into the game, I'll come up with some more fun stuff for battles.

o.0 One handed wielding of sword the size of body? Inconceivable! (*Is shot for weapon nerdness demanding realism.* In a game with flying ships. XD)
Very cute. I had a hard time picturing Skyler with a weapon, but if she was going to fight, I could totally picture her doing it like that. (Except for the giant swor - *Is shot again*)
I like it. Can’t wait to see all of the little animations. :D

Lol, I know right? I was debating making the sword tinier, but I couldn't resist. And ships could totally fly... if you use a bit of magic...

Edit: Hrmmm, with this new Otome forum, I wonder if my game really counts as Otome. I mean, yeah, I have a female protagonist, but there's not too much of a dating aspect to my game... I think... Would my game still count as Otome? (I'll be honest, my definition is a tad vague.)

Is there any dating aspect to your game at all? I thought it was a pretty kinetic game, in which case I'm pretty sure it shouldn't fall in the GxB category. Unless there is a dating aspect, or a choosing a guy route thingy, I think you might want to drop a note about it not being a GxB game. Unless you don't really care, 'cause the GxB WIP forum is just as insanely cool as the other one. :P

Wellllllllcome to the club. <3
I'm the one who reported your post to be moved. Sorry. I'm just so lonely.
Since boderline cases are being kept here, I think if there's even an implied romance with a guy character, you have to be here.

But let's make it a cool forum nonetheless. :)

Alright, let's rock this forum then, lol. I'll just stay here since that's where all the cool kids are, lol.

I probably shouldn't post this as it does contain some spoilers, but you probably have to look and wonder to realize it, lol.

2 of them haven't/won't make an appearance in the first game.

I'll assume you meant 3rd to last, so good job. :) And you would be correct. The other one is Jocelyn who is briefly mentioned in the first game. :3

I didn't report it because if the author doesn't feel the need to label their game ("gxb" - as is the case for Rock Robin - or "otome") I tend to think that the story may just have a female protagonist - and rely on other elements as the focus of the story. Having a female protagonist does not automatically make it a gxb game.

You make a cool forum by acting in the interest of the forum, not by doing things out of spite, or at least that's what I believe.

Way to turn a harmless post into spite. I'd rather not muck up someone's thread. If you have something to say to me, my PM box is always open.

In regards to her game, she mentioned that she was thinking about doing "porn", which implies a romance. She does not say with who, which is why I made sure to tell her if there was any "guy romance" she belongs here, at which point she could say "no, totally all girl porn" and I would've said "oops, my bad, on your way then".

I also tend to think just because a game has a female protagonist, doesn't make it GxB and definitely not otome. My previous uses of the "GxB" was back in a time where there literally was one or two female hero games. My "need" to label my games that way was completely different from the "need" to label it that way today. I would happily remove them to be put back in the main forum -- but that is not allowed. PyTom told me that all boderline cases have to go here. He wants to see this forum take off. It was not out of spite, not any more than you reporting threads was.

Again, emi, I'm sorry for dragging you into this.

It didn't seem so harmless to me, I get the impression you're doing anything to make a fuss out of nothing.

Again, you could have used a PM yourself, if all you wanted was to ask an information to the author. If you make claims in public, you may end up being criticised in public.

The way I see the forms working is more like a "Girl is Main Character" or "Boy is Main Character" sections, rather than true GxB only. So in my eyes, it seems to fit here.

Btw, I played your demo, great stuff. The only thing that bugged me was that the text moved too slow, so I was a button mashing whore the whole time. Other than that, excellent work! I can't believe you're doing all of this by yourself. You should recruit some help.

Thanks. Text speed should be a pretty simple fix, I'll keep that in mind when I go back to do more coding. :)

Working by myself wasn't too bad (though, I did end up recruiting my boyfriend to do the music (and that may or may not have been a good idea) and he helps me bounce ideas around too). I kind of liked doing all the art and writing by myself. I got almost all of it done already. Only took me what? A little over a year? lol.

Just wanted to post an update (and a question). All of the arts are done. Yay! I pretty much have the game completely done except I have absolutely no music for it. Should I release a musicless "demo" or just wait until I have the music to release it?

I just ran Lint, and I think it's kind of short. That's fine though since it is my first game and it's only the beginning of a much longer story.
The game contains 499 screens of dialogue.
These screens contain a total of 5,998 words,
for an average of 12.0 words per screen.
The game contains 6 menus.

Nguh. Now I'm rethinking if I want to release each arc separately or just lump them all into one game. >.>
