Thanks for the kind remarks. The artwork will be redone and made better than ever in Arc III, also the conclusion to the story as well

I must once and for all clarify that the linux .bzip archive is corrupted and don't unpack:
someone can take the trouble of re-uploading it ?
Best regards from Italy,
dott. Piergiorgio.
Code: Select all
ARCII-linux-x86/game/music/Fireworks_popping-old1.wav
ARCII-linux-x86/game/music/Fireworks_popping.wav
ARCII-linux-x86/game/music/Folk Round.mp3
bzip2: Data integrity error when decompressing.
Input file = (stdin), output file = (stdout)
It is possible that the compressed file(s) have become corrupted.
You can use the -tvv option to test integrity of such files.
You can use the `bzip2recover' program to attempt to recover
data from undamaged sections of corrupted files.
tar: EOF inatteso nell'archivio
tar: EOF inatteso nell'archivio
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

Are you still doing the next one? If so, do you know when it will be out?

Same here, linux tarball is corrupted, please reupload.dott.Piergiorgio wrote:I must once and for all clarify that the linux .bzip archive is corrupted and don't unpack:
As for the Arc I, novell is great, thanks!
P.S. I found a way to run it natively on linux.
1. Install renpy natively, in many distros it is just a standard package, so here on Gentoo:
# emerge renpy
2. Run your native renpy for game files. Game itself is platform independent due to python interpreter, and you need bundled python+renpy no longer. So just start:
$ renpy path/to/game/dir
In case of ARCII-mac.zip unpacked into $HOME:
$ renpy ~/ARCII-mac/ARCII.app/Contents/Resources/autorun/game
That is it! No wine or other emulators are needed.

I tested bircoph's suggestion, works but has an issue of not founding a file named click.ogg (I suspect is the usual cASE sENSitIVenESs issue...) whose crash the game; temporarily moved from non-working dir to the quasi-working directory, anyway.

Just discovered this; have downloaded and played through Arcs I & II. It's a very interesting and well done story, however it has been sooo long since the author posted, I am doubting whether there will ever be an Arc III - His last post on the Forum was December 1, 2013! I do hope that I am wrong.

I believe that I've read somewhere that this project was officially dropped a few years ago.
