Yeah, that's the second season. I was lucky enough to be warned so I never went through all the "looped" episodes just half of them. I'm grateful I was able to keep my sanity.By 2nd season, do you mean those 14 episodes that where actually more like only 7 or 8 episodes because of that "Endless Eight" bit? I was unaware that was another season, I thought it was just an addition to the first season.

It hurt my brain during the 3rd "Endless Eight" episode all the way to the last one, and I feared watching it...

Re: Animes you just can't stand
I was actually following the release of the 2nd season o____o
You cannot believe how annoyed I was when I found out that that episode was actually going to repeated 4 times.

That actually the anime studio's fault, right? Not that Haruhi is bad (or in other words, the author's fault making bad story). Just like Shakugan no Shana second season or Full Metal Panic second raid... both are awful anime but the original (light) novel is pretty good.

I doubt it also, it isn't Nagaru's fault. It's called mediocre implementation, in this case it strikes directly to those fans who were expecting a good season. Personally, I was really disappointed by this. Shakugan no Shana suffered greatly in it's second iteration too.LVUER wrote:That actually the anime studio's fault, right? Yes, you're right. I've heard that in the Haruhi light novel the 'endless eight' bit was only addressed for merely 2-3 pages. There was no need for there to be so many episodes.LVUER wrote:That actually the anime studio's fault, right? Not that Haruhi is bad (or in other words, the author's fault making bad story). Maybe they wanted you to feel how Yuki must of felt?
Well, at the very least they didn't use the exact same scenes for each episode. They changed the clothes the characters where wearing and did some different angles sometimes. That shows SOME effort on their part.

Re: Animes you just can't stand
One thing I find interesting about most of the animes we can't stand...
1) too much filler text
2) never seems to end
3) poor execution
4) some combo of these

It's because if they don't have those what you listed, we can stand the anime... kinda semantic, isn't it -_-

So basically you are saying, "I've noticed that bad anime is bad."musical74 wrote:One thing I find interesting about most of the anime we can't stand...

Hilariously redundant(Though no less true) statements.

Re: Animes you just can't stand
Hmm, this is a rather old topic but I think I'll chime in regardless.
Personally I had great difficulty watching Texhnolyze, Serial Experiments Lain and Chobits.
There may be others, but these three in particular come to mind.
In Texhnolyze, the artwork is gorgeous, but the plot is terrible. There is little to no hints about whats going on and the first episode takes 16 minutes before anybody talks!
It took me about 15 episodes to work out the plot was meant to be like a mafia war over drugs... I think, the plot stank so much I gave up on it.
Lain was similar, the artwork was gorgeous but the "plot" made no sense and went nowhere. I gave up on Lain about four episodes in.
Chobits on.the other hand wasn't too bad. I enjoyed the manga but never got to finish it.
When I bought the anime I thought it was pretty faithful to the source material which was great.
Buuuut, after the first dozen episodes its so samey that it gets hard to watch. Its as if its meant to be a soap opera - the plot just never moves.
I dunno, it was supposed to be a romance, so I'm surprised I made it ~20 episodes each time I try to watch it.
Other notable inclusions would be Air and Spice & Wolf. Same reasons as outlined above - stagnant or mediocre plot/execution.
