I'm being lazy and only answering some of the questions xD

What about stat-raisers?
I hate stat raisers. Unless the game overall is very enjoyable, I avoid them. x_x
RPG Elements?
Depends on the game, but I enjoy them usually.
Do you prefer playing as a Male or a Female?
Female but I'll play as a male.
Do you like mini-games?
Yush.
How do you feel about a VN without any minigames?
They can still be really good without them, depends on the game/story.
Favorite art style?
Unique art styles. I'm not that fond of the generic anime style (that doesn't mean I hate the anime style though); I like being able to look at the art and say "Oh, this is by *specific artist*".
What do you think about using 3D art in a game?
I'm not crazy about 3D in VNs.
Ah! The sound of music~ How important is music to you?
Music is VERY important to me. It can make me love or hate a VN >>; Additionally it can make me hate or love a character depending on their theme.
Voice Acting? Sound Effects?
I don't like voice acting in VNs, but sound effects are a nice touch.
How do you feel about pirates?
You mean the "shiver me timbers" kind or the "obtain programs illegally" kind? I'm going to assume you mean the latter xD; I really dislike pirating, me and one of my online friends occasionally have debates about this since they pirate art programs when really there's no need to pirate art programs since there's free programs that are just as good :/ I can go on a rant but I shall save you the headache.
Favorite Genre?
I don't really have one favorite genre, though I really like horror (to a degree) and fantasy.
Why do you like it so much?
I like scary crap, and I'm a bit of a D&D nerd.
What is your LEAST favorite genre?
Slice-of-life. I find it boring most of the time.
What plots do you think are over used?
High school drama.

Some kind of misunderstood monster. I know that's been done but I love that type of story. Or maybe a monster that is simply a monster, and doesn't understand our society.

They're alright so long as they fit the story. They can add a bit of realism to the story in my opinion, since things don't always turn out well in real life.

Yep.
What about games with romantic side plots?
Sure.
What are your favorite types of love interests?
Nerdy boys! <3
What about your least favorite?
Skinny boys that look more like girls >> I like my men to look like men.
How many is too many?
I think 5 romantic interests would be on the line of too many.
How do you feel about age difference?
Depends on the age of the younger person in the relationship, but if they're at least 18 I think an age difference of up to 7 years is alright. Any more and it's kind of iffy.
How do you feel about playing a Romance game that allows a Gay Option?
Depends on if the gay characters are written well. A lot of the games I've played with a gay option make the characters gay just to be gay. It's unrealistic and feels like they're only gay for fanservice or something. If the gay characters are written believably I'll enjoy it.
(For example, Don't Take it Personally Babe had some believable gay characters in my opinion.)

Depends on the story and the relationship between the family and the protagonist. For example, if the parents and the main character have a good relationship they should more involved in the MC's life.
How many characters is TOO many characters in your opinion?
Depends on the game/story.
What kinds of character backstories irritate you?
I'M SECRETLY A PRINCESS/SOME OTHER TYPE OF ROYALTY/NOBILITY BUT I DIDN'T KNOW IT UNTIL MY MAGICAL PRINCESS/NOBLE POWERS REVEALED THEMSELVES. ALSO MY BROTHER AND I HAD A DUEL BUT I WON EVEN THOUGH I WAS LIKE 8 AT THE TIME AND HE WAS LIKE 20. ALSO MY PARENTS ARE DEAD BECAUSE OF -insert over the top depressing reason here-.

Sadly since I'm an admin for a rp group I see these kinds of backstories a lot ;n;

Many people often hang out with people in their own age group, How about people who are much older/younger?
I think the reason people hang out with people their own age group is because those are the people most likely to understand their way of thinking/have similar interests. It's harder for a person of an older generation to connect on the same level as a fellow teenager. That said, if everyone has a similar interest that bonds the group together I think many different ages would be believable and very interesting to read about.

I can't think of anything else, But before I go... Are there any advices and tips you'd like to share with the rest of us??

How do you feel about Kinetic Novels?
A-O-K. Doesn't bother me at all.

RPG Elements?
Please no.

Probably for the best. Not a minigame fan.

Sound Effects?
SFX = MUST HAVE.

How do you feel about pirates?
Pay for what you like and can afford. Don't make a habit out of it.

Oh wow, this is a really long survey, but I'll give it a try.

Favorite thing about Visual Novels?
The sweet plotline and getting the good endings for my favorite boys.

LEAST favorite thing?
When getting the path you want is almost impossible without a walkthrough for some games.

How do you feel about Kinetic Novels?
As long as the story is good, I'll read.

What about stat-raisers?
Same as above plot is important. So if the stat-raisers work well with the plot, then I love it.

RPG Elements?
Depends, but I'm not nit-picky about it.

Do you prefer playing as a Male or a Female?
Female

Do you like mini-games?
They're fun to have

How do you feel about a VN without any minigames?
I am absolutely fine without having mini games in the VNs I play.

In order for a Visual novel to be a VISUAL Novel, there has to be visuals. How important is art to you?
It doesn't have to be professional quality. I just needs to be reasonable put together and effort shows. Sloppiness is a huge turnoff.

Favorite art style?
I like the art style of Yo Jin Bo a lot. I am also a big fan of the way tooaya of Re:A++

What do you think about using 3D art in a game?
I'm not a big fan of 3D VNs. I prefer the 2D

Ah! The sound of music~ How important is music to you?
Whether I've heard it or not, original or freeware, doesn't matter to me as long as the music fits the mood of the VN's story.

Voice Acting? Sound Effects?
Voice acting is cute if there's in it, but I'm pretty sure there aren't many people willing to make VNs with voice acting. First, it takes too much time.
Sound effect is good for all the non-human sounds (animals, house appliances, weather, etc)

How do you feel about Commercial games?
If I want to buy it, I buy it if I can afford at the time.

What your spending limit on commercial games?
Usually $20

How do you feel about pirates?
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEE

Favorite Genre?
Obviously shoujo based. It can branched off to fantasy, slice of life or even mystery.

I just find them entertaining.

There are many VNs that have protagonists as elves, witches, fairies, demons, vampires, etc. I'm not a fan of furries and mecha though.

I don't really play it but I am perfectly fine with games that allow such options. I think it'd great that more and more people accept the homosexual lifestyle.

I would like to say as long as the story's good it's okay, but I'm a fan of interaction within games, so unless I have the spare time, I wouldn't read it. (I'd actually rather read a novel XD)

It's alright, but doing it repetitively as I replay gets annoying :/

Same as the stat raising, unless if I replay the game, my stats don't get lost... then I'm all for it 8D

I don't know, I've never really played a game with 3D art, and I don't really plan to, since, well... I guess I just don't like the feel that 3D art gives. It just feels... too real or like computerishy <--- totally not a word but I hope people can understand? ^^;;

Never turn nice. I hate when things get fluffy... I think what is evil should stay evil. (But there are exceptions! Ex. when that evil person is actually an obtainable character in a romance VN... for me XD)
How important is family to you in a VN?
I think VNs should have them, they should also have friends, but I don't think there should be a focus on them. So in conclusion, I feel weird without them, but I like them when they're kind of... just there. Gives me some weird comfort...? O_O;;

No? Don't I already get that in real life? XD No, I'm kidding... as long as it fits in with the context or setting or whatever you call it of the story...

Like I said, when I start to be unable to remember characters (badly), it's probably too much. So I think 15 for me.

Clichéd sob stories. Ex. my parents always ignored me, I feel so lonely. Seriously, I was always home alone, and barely talked to my parents when I was little, etc and I'm not THAT lonely D;

... It doesn't matter to me. Since most of them look mostly human anyway... but honestly, I don't really care.

... =A=;; I... don't know? I don't even know the names of races of like 75% of the people in this world... How much you want to bet I can't tell the difference between Australian, Russian, and French people? And I also can't for Egyptian, African, and sometimes Indian people OTL (At school, I once thought my African friend was Indian and thought she was kidding when she said she came from Africa.) Why am I such a fail... D': Hope no one takes offense for me saying something like this...

Depends on the character. But i like having at least mention of a family.

if they aren't dead, total douchebags, or otherwise not involved in the MCs life. I'd like if the parents are at least worried about it. You have a Protagonist who's got a family, and they're mentioned, or shown at least once as good parents, they shouldnt just disappear when the protagonist goes on an adventure

How do you feel about Kinetic Novels?
I love them. They are like books, PLUS relevant artwork and mood-setting music. I think most people dislike them because they are comparing them to games... I like them because I compare them to books.

What about stat-raisers?
Pokemon is an example of a fun stat-raiser, because you are rewarded for gaining levels by getting different moves and seeing your pokes evolve. If I'm raising stats I want to see their effects in more than just numbers.

In order for a Visual novel to be a VISUAL Novel, there has to be visuals. How important is art to you?
It doesn't need to be professional quality, I just need to like it. Most importantly, it has to fit the tone of the story and be consistent. I think that's the most important thing, even over quality.

Favorite art style?
Too many. My favorite manga artists are Leiji Matsumoto, Masamune Shirow, Hirano Kouta, and Yasuhiro Nightow, if that's any indication. (Lots of contrast and cool weapons/ships is the overarching theme here)

How do you feel about Commercial games?
I am way less likely to play a game if it costs money and doesn't look immediately interesting to me (very hard to do - "you can't judge a book by its cover", but I'm guilty). However if I play a demo and I love it, I might end up hunting down a copy.

How do you feel about pirates?
Space Pirates. That is all.

What kind of creature would be interesting to play as?
A vampire hunting down its next victim. lol

How do you feel about True Endings?
I like them if there's a major story, not branching stories. Or the branching stories can all contribute to a True Story.

I like how it mostly involves reading and isn't heavily based on the game play most of the time.

Sometimes the story gets repetitive when you are trying to get a different ending.

I like it, if the story is interesting and written well.

I don't really like playing this one since the ones I have played ended up being rather difficult.

Favorite thing about Visual Novels?
The fact that it's like a book, but with music and art!
LEAST favorite thing?
Bad ends. I hate those. Also, stories that drags on too long... although that's what the skip button is for.
How do you feel about Kinetic Novels?
It's okay if the story is fairly short and interesting. However, I prefer interactive VNs.
What about stat-raisers?
I hate these, sorry.... >.>;
RPG Elements?
I prefer the more classic VN. Rather than a VN with RPG elements, I would rather play a RPG with VN elements.

Doesn't matter as long as it's an interesting story, but I always find it interesting to see a glimpse into a guy's mind XD

Very important, the art has to be at least decent for me to even play it. It's a distraction if there's a lot of things wrong with the art. If it's a commercial VN, the art has to be excellent.

In a visual novel, no. In other video games it's fine of course.

For me it's always fun to read stories about high school students and drama. XD I don't know why, I just prefer it over fantasy or mystery games. School life drama has always been more interesting to me.

I don't mind it... honestly, some cliches are very hard to avoid. As long as there is something original about the story, if it has a few cliches in it, I don't mind.

Well it's nice to see how others feel about VN. I at least got something interesting from the reading. With that said, here's mine.

Favorite thing about Visual Novels?
Its ability to combine the length of novel, the picture of manga and the sound and music of movie, making it in my opinion the best medium for story telling. Choas;Head is one that I will use as an example that really set the mood and atmosphere that cannot be achieved in any other medium.
LEAST favorite thing?
JAPAN-ONLY GAH!!!! Though other countries have taken interest in VN and there are localization effort it's still absurdly niche.
How do you feel about Kinetic Novels?
The same as one with multiple ending, provided that the story is good I can go either way.

Never really played any.

Don't like it. If I want to play an RPG I play an RPG. If I want to play a VN I play a VN

In order for a Visual novel to be a VISUAL Novel, there has to be visuals. How important is art to you?
Art is very important for me. It doesn't have to be spectacular but it should not detract me from the experience. Ex. I find Higurashi's art to be really horrible and is unable to bring myself to play it. That style may work in a more light-hearted game but in Higurashi case it simply doesn't work.

I mostly prefer 2D in my game. Though I have seen some use 3D to great effect but mostly I like it better in 2D. Some particles here and there wouldn't hurt though.

Music is very important, only a tiny bit less than the art. Having bad music will not break a game for me but a great music is a huge plus.

Considering that Tsukihime doesn't have much voice acting, and I tend to hate the really high pitched voices (that exist in like every game arghhh!!), as long as it's not annoying or i can turn it off if my ears is bleeding then I'm fine.

Honestly, I think if it's not japan commercial based VNs are not going to get anywhere and doing it for profit is impossible. I hope that it will change someday...

Normally I limit myself to a game or 2 per 2 months.

My stance in the piracy debate is that "Pirates are impossible to prevent, so the best way to go is the provide extra services to legitimate customer and make the pirates want to become the former group."

Typical Harem Romance that has no drama and character development exist purely for fanservices.

zombie! There are so much potential in a zombie game/movies/whatever that isn't pure gore feast but instead choose to explore the social, psychology and human of a zombie apocalypse.

Heroes that are hot headed that usually don't think before charging into a battle. I want my protagonist to have more brain please.

Parallel universe or time travel that don't seem like a deus ex machina. Also split personality (Does it even count as a trope?).

I don't think a non-humanoid creature will work. If the protagonist isn't human then he must at least be like human enough to think like one. Playing as a cat or others may be fun and interesting for a while but I can't see myself reading a 30-hours VN as a cat.

A good true ending is an ending that ties all ending together and makes sense of all the loose ties and ends. If a True Ending can't accomplish that then I don't like it. Ever 17 is a good example of a "holyshit" good ending.

It's always nice to know how they becomes after the stories.
