Morishita's Sprite Update

I just wanted to post some of my newly edited sprites that I have been working on. Please bare with me when it comes to my art. This is my first time doing a visual novel and I'm still trying to learn as much as I can with coloring. I'll keep trying my best to make it look as clean and top notch as possible It's not much now but I hope to get some helpful critique for more of my work that I will post up later. The visual novel is based off of my current comic but it doesn't follow it exactly. You'll be able to pick different paths and see what could have happened had Chasity not done or did do certain things. I'm still working on Jordan's sprite but so far here are the newly edited versions of chasity. I'll post up the old colors first then the new ones last so you can see what I edited.

oo the hair looks shimmery i like it

I think the main thing is that the skin looks very flat, especially compared to the hair. The hair is awesome and the shading is pretty good on it. It doesn't much the skin unfortunately. The skin should get the same treatment, using similar intensity of shadow and light. Here is an example I quickly made:

I agree with Auro-cynide. The way you color the hair and the skin were totally different.

btw, the way you colored the hair is really awesome xD

Oh that does look a LOT better O.O! Thank you for showing me an example! I really couldn't figure out what else I should do. I see now where I should add more shadows and highlights. *I also now see that I posted this in the wrong thread as well so this will have to be moved to a different forgive me for this embarrassing mishap *

Okay I went ahead and added the different shadow positions. I'm stuck between two different pictures to you.

Which should I stick with.
The number one or the number two? Please forgive me if I'm still not doing it correctly. I'll keep studying on coloring and shadows to try to get better.

I think I prefer the first one...
But honestly I don't see much of a difference

That's okay Arithra. someone else has the same opinion as you. It must just be me being nit picky. I added a slight gradient on her chin to make it darker but hmmm. I'll have to come up with more styles. Thank you though!!

Her hair is lovely! Also, I am totally liking that olive skin tone. Looking good. <3

I like the second one better, and agreed on the brown skin. It's lovely.

Okay here is another sprite update. I went ahead and bought Paint tool sai and I'm going to use this program for the rest of my sprite making I have two of the three sprites finished. I still have some more shading I need to do for Chasity's sprite but it's pretty much finished and I just finished Jordan's sprite. I hope to get better with anatomy and coloring so please bare with me

Lol Thank you Alera D She's my second little wild child :3 I'm glad to see that the clothes turned out decent enough. I always struggle with coloring clothes. I'm working on Ethan's sprite next. I have two different poses for all four sprites. This is very draining though =.= *trying to stay with my publishers deadline and make a game is no joke at all*

I really like these sprites except I the faces are too flat in comparison too the really detailed bodies and hair. Other than that you did a great job
