The best I could do would be to... uh... hunt for music similar to what I'd like, and give you some pictures and/or a piece of the script of the story so you could get inspired? That's all I could do @_@

The story I'm making is a slice-of-life with the theme of starting a new stage in life and making new friends that will (hopefully) last for a lifetime (:
What I mainly need is an upbeat music for quirky and funny scenes, while the other is something that's very moving/touching (Something I can use for happy endings) and the VN I'm making is a slice-of-life otome game that revolves around a snarky protagonist who has some sort of hatred for romance.
I'm not really giving any specifics for instruments, since I don't really know that much about them. I'm so sorry!

And I'd like to make a request too. The other music composer I got into contact with hasn't logged on here in about two weeks, so I'm not sure if he'll still do them. In the case that he does return, I'll ask for a different type of song. The type of mood that I want to meet is awkward and quiet in a bad way; there's tension in the air, and the object of discussion is pretty heavy. It shouldn't be too loud, and the instruments in use should create a dissonance that sends shivers down your spine. Think you can do it?
