Ever thought about doing the animation with ATL and Ren'Py?
That's where I would get interested in… :)

I don't know what ATL is *-*
and my basic Ren'Py knowledge is really rusty now...
It's been 3 years since the last time I used Ren'Py XD

ah, cool! :)

ATL is a basic possibility to do animation with Ren'Py. The Wiki page is: http://www.renpy.org/wiki/atl but it starts with grammar ;) So you maybe will get easier an idea if you start reading a little below the top.

I must say that I have currently problems with seeing your animation gif, as it comes through a proxy and the animation has been reduced to the first picture :( 'Will take a look at this hopefully later with a different Internet connection.

Well: I'm still new to Ren'Py, but I would love to do more animation stuff with it!! I'm currently thinking to enhance my project in that direction. And I am curious of what can be done!

whoa, I didn't know animation is now possible in Ren'Py! XD
but I'm still hoping that one day, Ren'Py can read animated gifs or transparent videos as sprites >.<

It looks kinda... complicated *-*
I guess I'll still stick with the video cut scene... lol

Heyyy, I like the second one better! :'D

The first one lacks proper pacing, staging, fluidity and follow-through. The second one uses limited animation but has good staging and timing. I think the second method would be more time efficient for a simple slap scene.

I'll just say: SECONDED.
I can't explain it properly anyway, so I'll take the chance when someone say it ^^
You are bigger than what you think but smaller than you can imagine.

Wow, I really like this second version too! Totally different and with a lot less movement than the first but I think it's a very fitting style for a VN.

I think the struggle was in the first pic. It was the first one that grasped my attention. It obviously said they were having a fight before I even noticed the likeness of the 2nd and 3rd one.
The color one doesn't emphasize he was slapped it's more of a jumping to the conclusion that he was because of both of their body postures.
The first pic caught my attention with the whole "oh my gosh" response.

But it looks like it depends what you want the response to be.
1 pic: A struggle, Quick slap
2 pic:Not much struggle with quick slap. Having the audience see his face to see what his reaction is.

But the newest is missing the struggle and fluidity of motion when she slapped him. It's like slapping a controlled person. Someone who's noticed they were slapped but controlling their response or doesn't care that they were slapped.
